1. Controller and contact

"Truth or Dare — The Ultimate Party Game" (the "App") is operated by DrunkenDucks, a subsidiary of The Rising Techie (collectively "we", "us", "our"), the data controller / fiduciary for the purposes of the GDPR, UK GDPR, India DPDP Act, LGPD, PIPEDA, APP, APPI, PIPA, POPIA, CCPA / CPRA and other applicable privacy laws. Postal address for legal correspondence: [Postal address — update via admin Settings → Privacy & Legal].

Contact us by email:

We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer because we do not currently meet the threshold for mandatory appointment in any applicable jurisdiction. Privacy questions are handled by the contact addresses above.

2. Scope and summary

This Privacy Policy applies to the App as distributed on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, and to this web page on which it is published. The short version: we do not require an account; we do not ask for your name, email, phone, contacts, photos, microphone, location, or any other personal information. Player names you type during a game are saved only on your own device. We collect a small amount of anonymous backend usage data so we can decide which content to expand. The App shows ads supplied by Google AdMob; in our Kids and Teens age modes the AdMob SDK is configured for non-personalized, child-directed-treatment ads with no advertising identifier transmitted.

3. Information we collect

3.1 Information stored only on your device

3.2 Information processed by our backend

3.3 Information processed by third-party SDKs

The App contains the following third-party SDKs. Each is named individually in compliance with the U.S. COPPA Rule (16 CFR §312.4) as amended in 2025, which requires operators of services directed at children to obtain separate verifiable parental consent for each named third-party recipient of children's personal information.

3.4 Information we do not collect

We do not collect: real names, email addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses, contacts, calendar, photos, files, microphone, camera, precise location, biometric data, health data, financial data, or any government identifiers.

4. How we use information

5. Children's privacy

The App offers a Kids age group (ages 0–12) and a Teens age group (ages 13–17) in addition to the Adults age group. When either Kids or Teens is active, the App applies the following safeguards:

The App is intended for use with parental supervision. We comply with: the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act and the FTC's COPPA Rule as amended in January 2025; GDPR Article 8 (digital age of consent — varies between member states from 13 to 16); the UK GDPR equivalent (age 13); India's DPDP Act §9 (verifiable parental consent for under 18, prohibition on tracking, behavioural monitoring and targeted advertising directed at children); Apple's Kids Category and Guideline 5.1.4(b) requirements; and the Google Play Families Policy.

Verifiable parental consent (VPC). COPPA, GDPR Article 8, and India DPDP §9 require an operator to obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information from a child. The App does not require an account, does not request any personal information, and stores no personal data about any user (child or adult) on our servers. The only third-party data exchange that could involve a child user is via Google AdMob, and as described above the App reconfigures AdMob in Kids and Teens age modes so that no advertising identifier is transmitted and no personal data leaves the device. Because no personal information is ever collected from a child, no VPC mechanism is required under COPPA, GDPR-K, or DPDP. If you believe a child has nonetheless transmitted personal information to us, please contact us at the addresses in §1 and we will investigate and delete promptly.

6. AI-generated content

Truths and dares displayed in the App are produced by large language models. We curate prompts and category structures, but individual items are generated by AI. Content is reviewed against safety rules for each age group, but no automated system is perfect — if you encounter content that is inappropriate for the selected age group, please contact us so we can refine the prompts.

7. Data sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share data only with the third-party SDK providers listed in section 3.3, strictly to operate their respective services. We may disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of users or the public.

8. Data retention

9. Lawful basis (GDPR / UK GDPR)

Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation or the UK GDPR applies, our processing relies on the following lawful bases:

10. Your rights

Because we do not collect personal information that identifies you, most data-subject rights (access, correction, deletion) are effectively exercised by uninstalling the App and clearing its on-device storage. The deletion mechanism is: (i) uninstall the App, or (ii) clear the App's storage from the operating system settings. The on-device data is irretrievable from us thereafter. To exercise rights against the limited backend information described in §3.2 (anonymous demand events) or to request information about your data, contact the email addresses in §1; we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (30 days under most regimes; 45 days under CCPA, extendable once).

10.1 EEA / UK residents (GDPR / UK GDPR)

You have the rights under Articles 15–22 to: access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection to processing, and the right not to be subject to automated decision-making (we do not engage in automated decision-making). You have the right under Article 77 to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority. EEA authorities: edpb.europa.eu/about-edpb/about-edpb/members. UK Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk.

10.2 California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from California residents under 16. The Google AdMob personalized advertising used in our Adults age group may constitute "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising under CPRA when the user has consented; in our Kids and Teens age groups no such sharing occurs. You have the rights to: know, delete, correct, opt out of sale/sharing, limit the use of sensitive personal information, and non-discrimination for exercising your rights. We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as an opt-out request. To submit a request, email the addresses in §1.

10.3 India residents (DPDP Act 2023)

You have the rights to: confirmation of processing, summary of personal data being processed, correction, completion, updating, erasure, grievance redressal and nomination. Complaints may be lodged with the Data Protection Board of India once it is operational; in the meantime, contact us at the addresses in §1.

10.4 Brazil residents (LGPD)

You have the rights under Article 18 to: confirmation of processing, access, correction, anonymisation/blocking/deletion, portability, deletion of consent-based data, information about sharing, information about consequences of refusal, and withdrawal of consent. Complaints may be lodged with the Autoridade Nacional de Proteção de Dados (ANPD).

10.5 Canada residents (PIPEDA)

You have the rights to access your personal information, request correction, and challenge our compliance with PIPEDA's Fair Information Principles. Complaints may be lodged with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).

10.6 Australia residents (Privacy Act 1988 / APPs)

You have the rights under the Australian Privacy Principles, including APP 6 (use and disclosure), APP 12 (access) and APP 13 (correction). Complaints may be lodged with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

10.7 Other jurisdictions

If you reside in Japan (APPI), South Korea (PIPA), South Africa (POPIA) or another jurisdiction with a comprehensive privacy regime, you may exercise the rights granted to you by your local law by contacting the email addresses in §1. Korean residents who require correspondence in Korean and contact with our Korean domestic representative should email the iOS contact above; we will direct your request appropriately.

11. International data transfers

Our backend is operated from India. The third-party SDKs described in §3.3 (Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, Google AdMob) operate global infrastructure and may process data in countries other than where you live, including the United States, the European Union, India and Singapore. Where personal data of an EEA or UK resident is transferred to a country without an EU adequacy decision, the transfer relies on the Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the European Commission (Decision 2021/914) or, where applicable, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, plus supplementary measures including TLS in transit and access controls. India is currently not the subject of an EU adequacy decision; transfers to our India-hosted backend rely on SCCs and the limited-scope, non-identifying nature of the data described in §3.2.

12. Security

We use industry-standard transport security (HTTPS / TLS) for all communication between the App and our backend. The backend uses authenticated, role-restricted access for all administrative operations.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective date" at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated through the App or via the App Store / Play Store listing where appropriate.

14. Contact us
